Sabine Wren was a Mandalorian warrior, explosives expert, and graffiti artist -- qualities that came in handy as one of the first rebels against the Empire. Part of the Ghost crew, Sabine used her gift for bomb-making to great effect against the Empire, and would often mark her work with spray-paint tags. Her classic Mandalorian armor was notable for incorporating her own custom stylings, reflecting her creative-meets-rebellious spirit. [1]

Description

Sabine was an independent, strong-willed, and free spirited woman whose greatest pleasures were expressing herself artistically and fighting against the Empire, and she often combined the two. Sabine's specialities were explosives and graffiti art. She would often rig her explosives such that went they detonated the explosion would be composed of bright colors and interesting shapes. Using her airbrushes Sabine tagged many Imperial installations, vehicles, and stormtrooper helmets with her graffiti art. She also customized most of her personal equipment from the armour to the blaster pistols. Even the Ghost was marked by Sabine's artwork in multiple areas. [2]

The Artist.

During her time as a cadet at the Imperial Academy on Mandalore Sabine acquired extensive knowledge of Imperial military procedure and protocols. She also became fluent in several languages including Aqualish and Shyriiwook. While a cadet Sabine trusted the Empire and blindly followed its orders without question like the other good cadets believing that the orders were for the greater good. This blind devotion ultimately lead to a nightmarish experience for Sabine that forced her to see the Empire for what it truly was: a tyrannical regime bend on controlling the galaxy through force, fear, and blind loyalty. Soon after the experience Sabine left both the Imperial Academy and the Empire. The entire experience left Sabine with a mistrust of authority, especially authority that disliked questions being asked about its actions and the reasons behind them.

The Mandalorian Warrior.

While a member of the Ghost crew Sabine was very cognizant to make sure that she never repeated the experience she went through at the Imperial Academy. When the Lothal Rebels began undertaking missions based on intelligence from an enigmatic source only known as Fulcrum Sabine began to question the wisdom in planning missions around the intelligence given that the only member of the crew who knew anything about Fulcrum was Hera. Sabine was mistrustful of the secret keeping by Hera believing that the rest of the crew should be privy to information regarding Fulcrum given that they ended up risking their lives on missions planned around that Fulcrum's intelligence. Despite the trust issues Sabine always performed her duties aboard the Ghost and on missions with proficiency and precision.

Sabine was a capable warrior and proficient fighter. She was well trained in the use of blasters to the point at which she was capable of accurately firing two blaster pistols at once. It is currently unknown how much of Mandalore's traditional warrior culture influenced Sabine's training, but she definitely displayed the "don't tread on me" attitude common to her Mandalorian heritage. As a weapons and explosives expert Sabine was capable of rigging together or modifying a large array of weapons and explosive devices. She's also shown some basic knowledge of computer systems and hacking. [2]

The Explosives Expert.

Sabine demonstrated a solid tactical mind when she came up with a plan to use Rhydonium explosives to form a staggered defensive line as a way to hold off an assault from a nest of Fyrnocks in the "Out of Darkness" episode. Sabine was clear and level headed when faced with a crisis, and was capable of adapting to changing situations when missions plan fell apart. This was demonstrated in "Rise of the Old Masters" when it was determined that the rebels had been lured into a trap and she disabled all of the turbo lifts in order to slow down the bases contingent of stormtroopers, and in "Fire Across the Galaxy" when she came up with the alternate plan use the painted TIE Fighter to escape Grand Moff Tarkin's exploding Star Destroyer.
